About Us
This is a foremost student organization aimed at promoting
the awareness and relevance of taxation in the various sectors of the economy as well as building a tax-conscious society
Inception
The Tax Club, UI started in November 2016 and has since grown rapidly under the mentorship of Prof Abiola Sanni the patron of the club as well as Dr Peter Oniemola and Dr Samuel Orekoya the Staff Advisers.
Defining Success
Over the course of its few years, the club has taken giant strides in terms of recognition and strategic partnerships with relevant professionals and agencies, launching of its first tax workshop, membership growth, remarkable events amongst others.
What We Do
Intellectual Platform
We stimulate the interest of students in taxation as a profession and provide a platform for intellectual interaction among students, tax professionals, and policy-makers.
Grooming
We ensure that members have a good knowledge of the practice of taxation in Nigeria and the global space, by grooming tax enthusiasts and students on the nitty gritty of taxation.
Tax Advisory
We brainstorm to propose policies that will aid the process of tax administration as well as simplify complex areas of tax through our articles and publications.
Awareness
Creating awareness of the relevance and importance of taxation in meeting societal needs and redressing social inequalities amongst members of the university and the society at large.
